Application Deadline: Open until filled. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the posting may close at any time once the positions have been filled.

About the Role

Goldline is looking for friendly, knowledgeable Curling Consultants to join our retail teams for the upcoming curling season.

As a Curling Consultant, you’ll be a frontline ambassador for Goldline, helping curlers find the equipment, apparel, and accessories that are right for them. You’ll provide knowledgeable and approachable customer service, process sales, help keep the store organized and well stocked, and contribute to an outstanding in-store experience.

This is a seasonal position that typically runs from early September through April. Our stores can be particularly busy at the beginning of the curling season and during the holiday period, so you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Welcome customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance with curling products, equipment, apparel, and services.
  • Product Recommendations: Help customers choose products based on their needs, preferences, experience, and style of play.
  • Sales & Transactions: Process purchases accurately using our point-of-sale system and handle cash and card payments securely.
  • Merchandising & Inventory: Restock and organize merchandise, and help maintain accurate product levels and attractive displays.
  • Store Operations: Help keep the store clean, organized, well stocked, and welcoming for customers throughout the day.
  • Teamwork & Problem Solving: Work collaboratively with teammates, respond to routine customer questions and concerns, and ask for support when a situation requires additional assistance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Curling Knowledge: Familiarity with curling, its equipment, terminology, and culture is essential. Experience as a curler or involvement with a local curling club is a strong fit for this role.
  • Customer Service Experience: Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset, but we are also interested in candidates who bring strong people skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Education: Completion of secondary school is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Technology: Comfortable learning and using basic retail systems such as point-of-sale and inventory tools.
  • Communication: Good communication skills in English are required. Additional languages are an asset.
  • Physical Requirements: Comfortable spending significant time standing and walking and performing light lifting as part of normal store operations.

Key Skills for Success

  • Customer Focus: Friendly, approachable, and genuinely interested in helping customers feel welcome and find products that work for them.
  • Curling Enthusiasm: Enjoys talking about curling and sharing product knowledge with athletes and enthusiasts at different levels of experience.
  • Attention to Detail: Able to handle transactions, pricing, inventory, and product information carefully and accurately.
  • Teamwork: Works cooperatively and respectfully with coworkers and contributes to a positive store environment.
  • Inclusive Workplace: Contributes to a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive workplace and customer experience where people are treated fairly and with dignity.
  • Comfort with Busy Periods: Able to stay organized, focused, and positive while managing interruptions and multiple priorities during high-volume periods.
  • Initiative & Willingness to Learn: Looks for ways to help customers and teammates, takes initiative with routine store tasks, and is interested in learning about new products.
